My journey into childcare really began as a parent. When my children’s nursery suddenly closed, I found myself in the same position so many mums and dads find themselves in – looking for somewhere I could genuinely feel happy and confident leaving my children each day.
I wanted somewhere that felt warm and welcoming, where children were truly cared for and known as individuals, and where parents felt comfortable, involved and part of the nursery too.
When I couldn’t quite find what I was looking for, I decided to create it myself. I opened my first nursery in 2010 with a simple aim: to create the kind of place I would have wanted for my own children – somewhere they could feel happy, safe and secure, while having every opportunity to play, explore, learn and develop at their own pace.
Today, that same feeling is at the heart of Happy Feet across both our Wimborne and Westbourne nurseries. Each has its own character, but I hope that from the moment you walk through the door, you can feel what makes it Happy Feet – warm, welcoming and a place where children can feel comfortable just being themselves.
Although Happy Feet has grown over the years, the reason I started has never really changed. As a mum, I know how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care. Every child is different and every family has their own needs, and taking the time to get to know you and understand what matters to your family is really important to us.
The best way to know whether Happy Feet feels right for you and your child is simply to come and see us, meet the team and experience it for yourself.
